BARNSTABLE — A 49-year-old South Yarmouth man pleaded guilty Monday to charges of assault and battery causing serious injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for a 2016 attack that left the victim with a metal plate in his head.Paul Edwards will not be sentenced until March 21, 2019.The victim and his family appeared in court and told Barnstable Superior Court Judge Robert Rufo they will wait until the March hearing to give a victim-impact statement.
