SANDWICH — A 9-year-old child was taken to a Rhode Island pediatric hospital after being struck by a car this afternoon, according to Sandwich police and fire officials. Sandwich police and fire crews responded to Old Fields Road, part of the Lakefield Farms neighborhood association, at around 1:30 p.m., according to a statement from police.
